The professionals at IAQ Diagnostics have performed thousands of mold inspections throughout the Midwest.  At a minimum, a mold inspection should include a thorough visual inspection and moisture assessment.  

Having a water-loss moisture mapped by a 3rd-party benefit the building owner, insurance company, and the restoration contractor.  The building owner benefits by having a professional who specializes in identifying and documenting water damaged building materials and areas of hidden moisture.  The insurance company receives protection against an overzealous restoration contractor. The restoration contractor benefits by having a 3rd-party identify the impacted building materials which reduces their liability. 

IAQ Diagnostics can provide fire/combustion residue sampling (frequently referred to as soot sampling) to help differentiate between affected and unaffected areas of the building.  With a sufficient number of samples, a map of the impacted and unaffected areas of the building can be made.
